2017 MADOC NATIONAL WELCOMES THE GEORGIA PRACTICE FACILITY REBOUND AWARD

Posted 08/16/2017

PDF - AMO MMRS News Letter #26 - 2017 Madoc National Welcomes the Georgia Practice Facility Rebound Award

Where there is unity there is always victory!

We are extremely pleased to announce that GPF is bringing their prestigious award that was a staple at the Walton TransCan to our AMO/MMRS Madoc National. “This award means a lot to us because GPF loves Canada and Canadian talent,” shared GPF owner Josh Woods. “The loss of the TransCan is huge in the Canadian MX community. I raced there as an amateur and have always loved what the race means to the racers and families. With that being said we are pleased to bring the GPF Rebound award to what AMO/MMRS is doing at Madoc and give the same program to one hard working rider. Good luck to all riders and remember, never give up!”

*The GPF Rebound Award is given to an athlete that shows great toughness and heart during the three motos at Madoc National. The rider chosen for the award is one that struggles in a moto and then rebound with an all heart type of ride earning huge respect after the struggle the moto prior. The idea behind the award is to pick a racer that never gave up even after a crushing defeat in a moto. GPF prides their facility on racers that are all heart and know that anything can happen if you believe and never quit. Are you that racer?

RULE CHANGE, AND ADVANCEMENT POINTS FOR 2017 AND BEYOND WITH AMO/MMRS

Posted 04/25/2017

Over the last week, we have had many questions about advancement points and structure with rules regarding racers that should or shouldn’t move up. Last year AMO/MMRS was a soft amalgamation of the two clubs and each had their own rules and structure. For 2017 and beyond there is one set of rules and structure for both clubs.

In saying that, we will have a full RESET of points from 2016 where no advancement points will come into play because of the two clubs having different views and different competition. We are not doing this to favor or go against any particular racer but rather ensuring the best for every racer in AMO/MMRS.

Notes:

  • No advancement points from 2016 will carry into 2017.
  • 2017 Advancement points are as follows:
  • Riders riding in more than one class will have upgrade points combined for both
  • Beginner to Junior, 10
  • Junior to Intermediate, 20
  • Intermediate to Professional, 40
  • Full points are awarded in classes of six or more riders. In classes of less than six riders, the winner will receive 2 points and second place will receive 1 point

Upgrade points:

              1st overall receives 5 points

              2nd overall receives 3 points

              3rd overall receives 2 points

              4th overall receives 1 point

  • Every race/event counts towards advancement points

RULE CHANGE: Girls 9-16

  • NO SUPERMINI BIKES. Any girl within the required age bracket for the class is only allowed to ride 65cc, 85cc (small wheels), and 150CRF Small Wheel. SUPERMINI Machines are no longer allowed.

****RULE AMENDMENT - FOR ANQ RACES WE WILL ALLOW THE SUPERMINI TO BE RACED. IT IS A CURRENT BIKE OFFERED IN THIS CLASS AT TRANSCAN SO WE WILL HONOR THAT.

FOR ALL ATLAS SUPER SERIES AND ORANGE MOTORSPORTS RACES NO SUPERMINI IS ALLOWED. WE WILL ADDRESS THIS RULE AGAIN IN THE FALL OF 2017

FOR THE THE JUNE 11TH RACE AT WALTON WHERE ALL ANQ DIVISIONS AND ATLAS SUPER SERIES ARE ONE WE WILL HONOR THE ANQ/TRANSCAN CLASS STRUCTURE

2017 AMO/MMRS Rulebook - HERE

Thank you,

PDF - 2017 AMO-MMRS News Letter #11 - St. Onge Recreation adds Two Factory Rides – WheelsOnline.ca Join the Family – NO RACE APRIL 23RD

Where there is unity there is always victory!

This is it, we swear! AMO/MMRS is ecstatic to announce the support from St. Onge Recreation to add two more bikes to our “Win Your Ride” for 2018. It’s also our pleasure to have wheelsonline.ca join in helping people find a ride. “The race season is just over a week away and the support we have is even bigger for 2017 then last year,” shares a smiling AMO President Ryan Gauld. “We’ve put hours and hours into this and to see the benefits we can offer our members shows that our goal and plan is not only believed by us but by so many others looking to share the passion for motocross ion Ontario. Do not miss a race with AMO/MMRS in 2017!”

  • St. Onge Recreation will offer two bikes at the 2017 year end banquet for two lucky AMO/MMRS members. A random draw will take place and for the beginning of 2018, these winners will receive a bike to race for the 2018 season.

  • Wheelonline is your first source for searching vehicle inventories. Providing online inventory management and magazine print services to our local automotive dealers for over 20 years. If you are searching for a vehicle, or have one to sell - Wheelsonline.ca should top your list, online or from our free weekly magazine publication. As a proud supporter of AMO/MMRS - Wheelsonline believes that SPORT INCLUDES ATHLETES ON WHEELS!

There will be no AMO/MMRS Western Race on April 23rd.

The AMO/MMRS TBA Western race on September 10th will now join the Eastern side at Cochranes where it will remain the Atlas Super Series #10 - No Western Race.

HONDA RACING MAKES ANY RED RIDER FEEL WELCOMED TO RACE WITH AMO MMRS

Posted 03/02/2017

PDF - 2017 AMO-MMRS News Letter #7 - Honda Racing makes any RED RIDER feel welcomed to race with AMO MMRS

Where there is unity there is always victory!

The race season is fast approaching with just over one month till the opening race at Gopher Dunes for AMO/MMRS in 2017.  This off-season has been one for the records in ways that only benefit our members and supporters that choose to race with us. “Never before has an amateur scene received so much support to enhance the racing experience like what’s being seen in Ontario,” states AMO President Ryan Gauld. “With the help of MMRS, our goals are being met each week. We’re very excited to get the season going.”

Honda Racing sees the value in supporting AMO/MMRS for 2017 because it’s all about the amateur racers. The grass roots of the sport are the reason we can all continue to enjoy the sport of Motocross in Ontario. Without the great families that race each weekend with AMO/MMRS the pro series would be very hard to maintain or even survive.

Honda Racing will support with:

  • In the Atlas Brace Super series Honda Racing will give away $250 dollar parts credit to a Honda rider of AMO/MMRS choice at every round (13 events) for a total of $3250.
  • Honda Racing offers contingency for the Atlas Brace Super Series
  • The Madoc National in August will receive 1 - $500 parts credit to a Honda racer of AMO/MMRS choosing.
  • Lastly, one lucky Honda Racer will win another $500 parts credit at the yearend banquet celebration. That makes a total of $4250 from Honda Racing in Parts Credit.

Where there is unity there is always victory!

Every week AMO/MMRS goes out and tries to bring more to the membership to make it easier to join our family when the gate drops in 2017. We now welcome OTSFF Group as another supporter of the refreshed agenda AMO/MMRS provides. “This is a really great idea for Yamaha racers that support AMO/MMRS,” shares a very appreciative AMO President Ryan Gauld. “The OTSFF Group did something similar for close friends of theirs last year so I reached out to see if they thought it would work for our program. They jumped on the idea.”

“The OTSFF Group is always looking for fresh ideas to help keep our name at the grass roots of motocross,” shares OTSFF President Andre Laurin. “When Ryan approached us, and from what we have seen, and heard over the last year, this was an easy fit for us to support.”

New for 2017: (more to come)

OTSFF Group will support with:

  • The top two Yamaha mounted (no matter the class. The two highest points earning racers) riders from the Atlas Brace Super Series will be able to pit out of the Factory Rockstar Yamaha OTSFF rig at the Ontario rounds of the Rockstar Energy Canadian Arenacross tour (schedule to be released soon)
  • If either or both of the racers travel to the other rounds they will be welcomed to pack their bike, gear bag, and tool box to be transported in the Factory rig to race outside of Ontario (schedule to be released soon. Racers will have to cover their own travel expenses to and from events: Flights, hotel, rental car, etc).
